Pimping finished!! (Team Pirates)

After 4 days of constant work, we have now finally finished pimping the pirate tuk tuk and it looks absolutely amazing, if we may say so ourselves!! We managed to get Soth on board to help us (the director of MaD's Rural Development Program), and he actually used to be a boat builder and so was most useful! By the end of the pimping, we'd managed to put up 3 metre sails, a steering wheel and cannons on the side! The first time we took it out for a spin, the wind in the sails was so strong that it actually ripped off the floor board which the mast was attached to! The pirate flag at the top was also ripped off, but was fortunately salvaged. We're also the only team who has managed to burst TWO tires in one day, but that's what happens when your reckles pirates like us!!

Our costumes are also exceedingly ridiculous, as you can see from the picture. But apparently we actually look like pirates, which is a start (although we believe these comments were mainly due to the fact that we are both sporting beards at the moment, due to laziness! We are planning to let them grow for the ten days that we are away, so expect to see some true pirate beards (and smells) by the end of the challenge!)
We're now sat chilling at the MaD Base Camp with some well earned beers and setting up this rather cool team page. We are going to be able to blog on route via sms and you will also be able to follow us on the map as we have GPS with us, so stay tuned for more updates. Those who are from the netherlands, be sure to tune in to Den Haag FM (92.0 fm) every day at around 7-9am as Maarten will be speaking live on route (providing we manage to get signal!!).

ps. if you haven't donated yet, there's still time to sponsor us:http://www.ammado.com/community/112703

Huge thanks to those who already have, up to over €1000 now!
